An 18-year-old British-Nigerian student, Abiola Abidoye, has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by scoring the highest A-level grade in Law across the entire United Kingdom in 2025.
His outstanding performance secured him immediate admission to Imperial College London, one of the UK’s top universities. Abiola studied at One Sixth Form College in Ipswich, where he took Law, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, earning A grades* in all four subjects.
He achieved 224 out of 240 marks in Law—the highest in the country. Despite his strengths in Maths and Physics, Abiola chose Law purely out of personal interest.
“I am very passionate about different types of law—even some we didn’t cover, like human rights. It was just a fun lesson I wanted to do. I wasn’t expecting to do so well in it,” he said.
He shared that the journey to achieving this record-breaking score was intense and demanding.
“I put in an immense amount of work into this. I stayed up very late studying and put a lot of pressure on myself to try and achieve it. It was very difficult, but I’m pretty happy. The teachers at One Sixth Form College were wonderful and helped me a lot.”
Abiola’s Law result was the first to be released, and seeing that he had topped the nation gave him confidence as he awaited the results of his other subjects.
Interestingly, despite excelling in Law, Abiola has decided to pursue a degree in Mathematics at Imperial College London. He plans to build a career in banking or finance, where he believes his combined skills in mathematics and law will give him a competitive edge.
